New York Soccer Journal spoke with Ben Wright of SixOneFive Soccer to learn more about Nashville SC, New York City FC's road opponent on Saturday night. Here is your NYCFC vs Nashville SC preview.

Nashville SC at a glance

• League Form: W-W-D-D-W

• Record: 9W, 3D, 1L | 30 points, 1st place

• Scoring Leader: Sam Surridge, 9 goals

• Assist Leader: Cristian Espinoza, 5 assists

1. Flying high

New York Soccer Journal: Nashville SC has a league-leading 30 points and is on a seven-game undefeated streak, with its last loss coming to the Chicago Fire on April 4. What has head coach BJ Callaghan done to turn Nashville into one of the best teams in MLS?

Ben Wright: Callaghan came in in the summer of 2024 and immediately gave every player and position clearly defined roles and expectations. There's a cohesive tactical vision in place, and every single player on the squad knows how they fit into the plan on any given day. Chief Soccer Officer Mike Jacobs also deserves a lot of credit for rebuilding the roster and finding quality depth all over the pitch, something Nashville haven't really had before. It's how they've been able to maintain a high level this year, even with injuries to key guys like Sam Surridge, Patrick Yazbek, Eddi Tagseth, and Andy Nájar.

2. Nearly flawless at home

NYSJ: GEODIS Park has been a fortress this season, as Nashville boasts a 5W-1D-0L record there and hasn’t suffered a regular-season home loss since October 18, 2025. What is it about GEODIS Park that makes it such a hard place to play for opposing teams?
