1. Rebuild is a work in progress

New York Soccer Journal: It's a new era for DC United, with head coach René Weiler and new managing director of soccer operations Dr. Erkut Sogut, who works remotely and seemed to be using AI to make a LinkedIn post after one of the club’s matches. With DC sitting just outside of a playoff spot, what’s the vibe around the team right now?

Donald Wine II: They're better than last year, let's start there. Weiler has brought in players he thinks can work within his system, and he's struggled with getting these guys to buy into working hard every second of each match. But, it seems to be a work in progress. With a draw and win last week to break them out of their funk, the mood is more upbeat. They know there's more work to do to get better, but it's always a better vibe after a come-from-behind win.

2. DC slowly adjusting to René Weiler

NYSJ: According to Matt Doyle, players he’s talked to in DC’s locker room “hate” Weiler. After becoming the club’s head coach last July, how is the team adjusting to Weiler?
