• Fourth, final short-term deal for Arnau Farnos
April 22, 2026
Status: Official
Another match, another Short-Term Agreement for NYCFC II's Arnau Farnos. Farnos officially joins the first-team roster ahead of the Matchday 9 meeting with FC Cincinnati at Yankee Stadium. This comes after he was added to the MLS roster for NYCFC matches against St. Louis City SC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and Westchester SC.
He made his MLS debut in the away loss to Vancouver, and started and scored his first goal for the club in the 5-2 win at Westchester in the Round of 32 of the US Open Cup. Based on the rules around Short-Term Agreements for MLS Next Pro players, Farnos could only sign one more for this Cincinnati game, and he can only appear in one more MLS match, since Short-Term players are limited to two league matches – though they can make unlimited appearances in non-league games played in the Open Cup or Leagues Cup.
So the next time New York City FC and Pascal Jansen want to see Farnos in the squad after this Cincinnati call-up, they'll need to sign him to a full-on MLS contract.
