Update 5:55 pm ET: FULL TIME: CF Montréal 1-0 New York City FC
New York City FC conceded in the 18th minute, with Prince Owusu doing what he tends to do for CF Montréal, but the New York City attack never truly threatened to equalize despite having 64% of possession throughout the match. Our senior writer Matthew Mangam has the full report on why NYCFC lost to Montréal for a third straight time at Stade Saputo, and where they go next as they remain mired in what's now a six-match MLS winless streak.

Update 1:55 pm ET: Starting XIs are out and New York City FC makes two changes from the lineup that drew Cincinnati, with Keaton Parks entering in place of Raul Gustavo (with Kai Trewin going from midfielder to central defender), and with newly-signed Arnau Farnós getting his first MLS start in place of the unavailable Hannes Wolf.
Andrés Perea is also back in the squad for the first time since November 7, 2025, against Charlotte FC, when he suffered that severe leg injury.

Montreal is running back the same Starting XI that beat the New York Red Bulls by a 4-1 scoreline last weekend. Of some note, neither of Wiki Carmona or Frankie Amaya made the squad as starters or subs despite not appearing on the injury report as unavailable.
